I hope they find a cure

Since the end of 2010, Jeff and I ave goten 3 phone calls, about 3 people, who were diagnosed with similar forms of cancer.

I looked the word up in the dictionary, and this is the one that best dscribed it:

Can-Cer [kan-ser] 1. any evil condition or thing that spreads destructively; blight.

Evil. Yep, that suits it about right.

First person: Grandpa Daniels. He was diagnoed with Colon AND Liver cancer around thanksgiving. After having some internal complications, they went in for surgery, and did a biosy, diagnosed him with colon cancer, and noticed it had spread to his liver. He's refused treatment since he's decided, he quit drinking and smoking, and that alone gave him an extra 31 years of life, so if god wants him to go, he'll go when he's summoned. Wow grandpa! He's still enjoying life, while he has the opportunity. He's more lethargic if anything, but Jeff makes the drives over there to see him when he can. Jeff, you rock.

Second person. My best friend Melissa, her WONDERFUL Dad, Ron, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer after fighting flu like symptoms right before Christmas. He had just had his annual physical, and it had gone undetected. They finally did an ultrasound, and that's when they noticed there as a tumor on his pancreas, they did a biopsy, and it came back as pancreatic cancer. He passed 6 days later. Within the day he was admited, to the day he passed, was less than a week.

Third person, Jeffs buddy/best friend in WA, Rick, his Mom, just passed today. About 5 hours ago in fact. Just in the past month, she wasn't feeling well, went to the Doctor, and they found out she had pancreatic and liver cancer. Doctors had said, tey this new type of chemo, may not make you as sick, and may be able to give you an extra 3 years. So, she put up a great fight, and even though the battle is over, I really genuinely feel she won, because she tried.

Not enough marathons for helping find a cure, I wish I could do all of them and donate billions for research to rid the world of it. It's just a sad way to go, and all 3 families will have my everlasting condulences.

Looks like I need 3 colors of ribbons....

Whew!

As many know, with my current situation, I'm back in the job market. Correction, I was until something good happened!

My visiting teaching partner, Jenn, had a neighbor that has a 9ms old little girl, who the parents were looking for someone to watch during the day. She said she'd put my name out for me. Indeed she did, 4 days later, I got a call and I'm ECSTATIC to say, that little baby Miri will be joining Landon and I in our daily adventures! I was so worried that I was going to have to put Landon in daycare, and go back to an office job which seemed most unappealing than being with my kids. So, having a baby around the house will prep Landon to be nice to other kids smaller than him. I'm SO excited and relieved that I can enjoy my kids, as well as the company as other kids too. Feeling IMMENSELY blessed, whew!

Raise your hand if it's your Daddy's Birthday!!

Raise your hand if your Dad is:

Named Charles.
Plays the Organ, rather well.
Was the organist for 11+yrs every Sunday at church.
Worked tirelessly to provide for his family.
Spent 18 years in schooling to get a stellar education.
Is still totally crazy about your mom.
Tells really funny jokes at the dinner table.
Is enlightening with his advice.
Is 57 and has serious guns on each arm, and really physically fit.
Wears the same glasses frames as your younger brother.
Helps others.
Tickles the grand kids.
Is a GREAT Papa to those mentioned grand kids.
Still horses around with his 5, 20-30's something grown children.
Enjoys time around his in-laws.
A GREAT handyman and carpenter.
Is a brainiac.
Can fix cars.
Can speak Japanese as well as read, and write it.
Is a IT guy for a large corporation overseas.
Has a good sense of style.
Has an infectious laugh.
Is a fabulous story teller, makes up wondrous imaginative stories on the spot.
Plays the piano.
Can sing in the choir, as well as carry a great tune in general.
Makes you giggle like no other when he says, "Ya bonehead!" when one has done something beyond stupid.
Is your go to guy when something is wrong.
Is supportive.
Is kind.
Is loving.
Is genuine.
Is gentle.
Still gives all of children hugs and kisses, always has, always will.

I grew up with a man who made his family his first and foremost priority. He made God his equal first priority, followed by work and school. He taught me that life is about learning, having values, helping others, and that he loved me regardless of what ever bonehead thing I did, and will probably do later on. He's taught me countless things that I can't even begin to list, he's been a great teacher, and I'm immensely grateful for him for that, as well as just being an amazing Father.

All in all, I have an all-star Dad. He's been thrown curve balls, and turned those into home runs, time and time again. He's been a good student, a hard worker, a great father, and a great husband, not to mention is just an all around nice and funny guy. Happy Birthday Daddy, I love you!

To my sisters...

I miss you both, I think we got jipped off by not watching ANne of Green Gable or Little Women. I must admit, this song reminds me of us, if something were to happen to one of the three of us. It totally makes me cry, just becuase in the movie, the scene is soooo sad, but...in a way, makes me hope we can all be strongly bonded, love you both, I couldn't have been blessed with more pretty, kind, humorus and loving sisters!!

Can't forget the little angel :)

New Baby!!

I've known my dear friend Hanna since Sophmore year in high school. I'd just moved here at the time. Anyway, been friends ever since then.

Well, Hanna and her sweet husband Ben, just had a baby and I couldn't be more happy for them! I was shocked at how Hanna was up and roaming around one day after just having a C section, congrats again to you both! We can't wait to watch baby Evalyn grow into a beautiful lady! Love you!

In dire need of a vacay

I need a vacation. This is not up for debate, plain and simple.

I want to take my kids to somewhere, that the weather is oppsoite of what I live in now. Which, is 40 degrees, rain, wind and ice at nights. I don't want to have to go too far, as my son hasn't ever flown and I'm not so sure how that will go trying to keep a 2yr old still.

Ideas?

In 5 years...

I have many dreams/goals/ambitious things I'd like to do, call me crazy but I really want to:

-Obviously settle down PERMANENTLY. Not that the past years wasn't permanent, just didn't go as I had planned...*cricket cricket*

-1 more kid, I love children!Leena is BEGGING me for a sister, I keep telling her to bug her Dad, but that's not working so well. She wants ME to give her a sister, not her dad. Go figure!

-Get licensed in Real Estate and Dental Assisting, or one or the other.

-Flip a home. I see so many houses that could be total diamonds if they had a few things done. ALWAYS wanted to try my hand at least one property. I figure if I try it once, I can say I did it!

-If I can manage, get a Bachelors in alcohol/drug addiction & substance abuse counseling. Now THAT is ambitious.

-Take up newborn photography/Budoir Photography, being behind the lens and making people look stunning just is super appealing to me. Not to mention give women some confidence in their bodies, I always feel bad when someoneI know, looks totally good for their age or after having kids, and they sit and bas themselves. May help with confidence =)

-Build my own home, complete with a photo studio and a stained glass studio. Ok, I think those will come WAY later, but I guess I can dream on for now, haha. If not room for once, at least a space where I can put my camera stuff and I'll be happy =)

But for now, I'll keep on dreaming until things calm down a bit.
